Kaviar Forge & Gallery is a combination of a formal exhibition area and sculpture studio located on historic Frankfort Avenue. Founded in 1984 by master blacksmith Craig Kaviar, the gallery displays the amazing work of hand crafted items of quality, detail and character. Over 30 local artists are represented, their pieces ranging from ceramics, metalwork, woodwork, paintings, jewelry, and glass. The eco-friendly forge, running on waste vegetable oil, produces functional and unique metalworks and sculpture for businesses, private homes, and public spaces around Louisville. Tours are available on Fridays at 2 pm which includes video, lecture on history of metalworking, and a demo in the forge of hot metalworking in our waste vegetable oil forge.
