We provide community inclusion services to adults with severe disabilities
The Cerebral Palsy School of Louisville, Inc., was established in 1950 to educate children who, because of developmental disabilities, could not attend regular school. We began as a small, one-room school serving 13 children and grew into a facility that provided education and therapy to over 1,500 children. At the close of the 1993 school year, all students had either graduated or mainstreamed in the public school system because of federal and state law.
When many former students were unable to find employment or volunteer opportunities, the board of directors began to address the unmet needs of disabled adults by establishing the Mattingly Center for Continuing Education Adult Program in 1988. The Mattingly Center empowers adults with severe developmental and intellectual disabilities with the skills and adaptive technology to be active members of their community.
