Louisville's solution to the addicted and homeless. Serves 400+ men and women daily.
The Healing Place has served Metro Louisville and surrounding areas for 20 years as a compassionate shelter for the homeless and an innovative recovery program for the addicted.
The recovery program addresses the causes of homelessness, recognizing that a primary contributor is drug and alcohol addiction. The Healing Place seeks to end homelessness and reunite families through addiction recovery and continuing care for its clients. This holistic approach breaks the cycle of addiction, through unique parenting and child development programs to address the entire family system.
Honored as a “Model That Works” by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, The Healing Place helps homeless, addicted men and women to return to productive lives. To date, more than 2,400 alumni have completed the program. These former clients are not only off the streets but in most cases are fully employed, some attending college or technical school, reunited with their families, and functioning as productive citizens in our community.
